The Grado GS1000 combines the companys 50 mm X2 dynamic driver with full mahogany housings and its largest ear cushions. The larger driver and G cushions distinguish the GS1000 within the Classic Series, giving it greater bass extension, dynamic headroom, and spatial scale.

Its X2 dynamic driver uses a Mylar diaphragm, copper voice coil, and rare-earth magnet system engineered for efficiency and dynamic control. Grados latest tuning is intended to improve balance and clarity while preserving the lively character associated with the companys open-air headphones.

Full Mahogany Housings

The GS1000s housings are made entirely from mahogany, a material with a long history in Grado headphones. According to Grado, mahogany contributes warmth, tonal richness, and natural resonance while supporting the openness and scale of the GS1000s presentation.

Signature Gold Headband Assembly

The GS1000 uses Grados Signature Gold headband assembly, the companys most refined mechanical platform within the Classic Series. Engraved aluminum-alloy gimbals, stainless steel height rods, and reinforced aluminum junction blocks improve structural stability and durability while maintaining controlled earcup rotation.

A genuine leather headstrap with contrasting white stitching provides cushioning, while an internal steel spring band lets you adjust the clamping pressure.

Signature Silver Cable and G Cushions

Grados Signature Silver cable is designed to reduce weight and improve flexibility while maintaining signal integrity. The GS1000 is available with either Grados standard connector or an optional XLR termination.

The GS1000 is supplied with G cushions, the largest cushions in the Grado range. Their geometry positions the drivers farther from the ears, increasing the perceived width and dimensionality of the presentation while maintaining center focus. Because Grados cushions also act as acoustic tuning elements, they can be changed to alter the fit, tonal balance, and presentation.
